Dry Mouth

To manage dry mouth, staying hydrated is essential, but specialized products can help too. Saliva substitutes like sprays or gels (e.g., Biotene or Xylimelt) can provide relief by moisturizing the mouth. Mouthwashes designed for dry mouth, such as ACT Dry Mouth or TheraBreath, help soothe and protect oral tissues. Sugar-free chewing gum or lozenges with xylitol can stimulate saliva production. If symptoms persist, it's best to consult with a dentist or doctor for further advice.

Fluoride Varnish

A concentrated form of fluoride applied directly to teeth, fluoride varnish is used to strengthen tooth enamel and prevent cavities. It’s typically applied by a dentist or dental hygienist as a preventive treatment, especially for children or individuals at higher risk for tooth decay. Do not brush or floss your teeth for at least 4-6 hours after the application. Avoid consuming hot drinks such as coffee, tea, or hot chocolate for the first 4-6 hours. Steer clear of hard or crunchy foods like nuts, chips, or raw vegetables during this period.

Refrain from using alcohol-based mouth rinses and consuming alcoholic beverages for at least 4-6 hours.

Xylitol

A sugar substitute and natural sweetener found in many dental products, xylitol helps reduce the growth of harmful bacteria in the mouth, preventing tooth decay and promoting healthier teeth. It’s commonly found in chewing gums, toothpastes, and lozenges.
